Song of the Thankful

We thank You for our bread each day,
And every tear You wipe away,
We thank You for the world lovely,
And every bird and buzzing bee,
We thank You for animals great and tall,
And how You don't care that some are small,
And most of all Lord,
We thank You,
For giving us Your love that's true.

A Summer Soon to Be

Oh the ages pass on by,

Singing their timeless lullaby,

Many men have lived and went,

When death's long hand for them has sent,

Slowly do the seasons go,

Wading through green grass and snow,

And memories will go on too,

Faded away like morning dew,

So don't forget, you must remember,

Even in the bleak December,

There is a summer soon to be,

The Lord will come for you and me.

Winter is Here

Fall has gone,

Winter is here,

The cold wind blows,

Snow is near,

The clouds are thick,

The birds are rare,

As is their lot,

The trees are bare,

The bears are sleeping,

In caves of dark,

To an unpracticed eye,

The world is stark,

But to my mind,

And those who can see,

Winter does have,

A savage beauty.

The Open Road

The open road is calling,
Come and walk with me,

Through strong and mighty mountains,

And valleys of the sea.

Through pastures green and quiet,

And woods serene and calm.

We'll walk along together,

And sing a traveler's song.

Through dunes of yellow sand,

And night as dark as crows,

Through harvest-laden land,

Where farmers reap and sow.

Through deserts of great distance,

'Cross streams of water wide,

Along a white wood fence,

And great canyon's divide.

And when we reach the ocean shores,

I must depart away,

I leave you with the mempories,

For at your home you must stay.

But I must leave again, once more,

And cross to lands unknown,

But though I travel the open road,

I always will come home.

The Start of a New School Year

Hello again.

Wow have we been busy lately! School started off with a bang and is still going strong. I guess I forgot how busy we are this time of year. It's been awhile since I've written (a long while) but I'm going to attempt to pass that off as summer laziness. I hope to add alot more poetry and stories from now on. I'm also considering posting a story that I write for a homeschool newsletter. Anyway, I have to go stir the salsa (nobody here is congested). Bye for now!

Post 4th

Hello again.

I know I haven't written in awhile. We did testing a few weeks ago and our scores came in today.

I was so happy with mine! For Independence Day we went to the lake, and dropped by my grandparent's house on the way back. It was really fun. Tomorrow we are going to my Dad's friend's house out in the country.
