Fall has gone,
Winter is here,
The cold wind blows,
Snow is near,
The clouds are thick,
The birds are rare,
As is their lot,
The trees are bare,
The bears are sleeping,
In caves of dark,
To an unpracticed eye,
The world is stark,
But to my mind,
And those who can see,
Winter does have,
A savage beauty.
