The Rain

The day has dawned in dark today,
As rain is falling down,
The fog has covered both land and waves,
And is rolling all around.
The clouds are dark and heavy,
And the birds are in their nests,
As many little raindrops,
Come to the earth to rest.
But soon the fog will roll away,
And the sun will shine again,
A rainbow ripples in the sky,
Over the worn dirt lane and fen.
